Awesome! China's Market Potential: Total Elimination of Gasoline-powered Vehicles by 2035

~Announcement of "Roadmap for Energy-Saving and New Energy Vehicle Technology 2.0~
China, the world's number one emitter of carbon dioxide (CO2), is making a dramatic policy shift to achieve a transition to a decarbonized society.

On October 27, the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers, an organization of Chinese automotive professionals, released the "Roadmap for Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicles (NEV) Technology 2.0".
Prepared under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's automotive policy is expected to be implemented based on this roadmap.

NEVs accounted for 5% of new car sales in 2019, but the roadmap calls for increasing the proportion of NEVs to around 20% in 25 years, 40% in 30 years and over 50% in 35 years, with over 95% of new energy vehicles being EVs.

The remaining gasoline-powered vehicles will be switched to HVs, which are energy-saving vehicles, and the ratio of HVs will be increased to 50% of gasoline-powered vehicles in 2013, 75% in 2013, and 100% in 2013.

This means that European automakers are also aggressively expanding their business in China's EV-related markets, as gasoline-powered vehicles, which used to make up 95% of the market, will switch to NEV or HV by 2019.

While the US and European countries are experiencing economic stagnation due to the cessation of the spread of the new coronavirus, China is likely to be a market full of unprecedented commercial opportunities for automobile and related parts manufacturers from around the world.

As mentioned above, at this dramatic turning point in the Chinese market, the focus of the Nikkei automotive manufacturing industry will be on how to take advantage of the demand for a switch to NEV vehicles, and how to pursue stable supply, quality assurance, and price competitiveness in order to survive.

For example, accurately defining the consumer demographic through big data
Accurate selection of the best-selling products, thereby avoiding wasted inventory; and
Strict quality control of products based on the year of manufacture, etc.
In order to survive in the new normal era, it is essential to achieve digital and data-driven operations.

We feel that there is a lot we can do in terms of warehouse management.
